IPL/SHR HAIR REMOVAL TREATMENT
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment uses flashes of light that are filtered to allow certain wavelengths of light that target the hair follicles.

The hair follicles then absorb the light and it is converted into heat and the follicle heated until it is destroyed.

The client feels this as a short, sharp flick, like being pinged by a rubber band.

Once the follicle is destroyed the hair will not regrow. Hair follicles in the treatment area will all be at different stages of development and as such not all hair follicles will be destroyed during the first treatment.

The benefits of the treatment include:
-
Delayed re-growth of the hair
-
Lightening of the hair
-
Decreased density of the hair
-
Long term or permanent reduction in the number of hairs growing in the treatment areas

Multiple treatments will be required to achieve long term hair reduction

Super Hair Removal (SHR) is a newer technology which uses low energy and rapid pulses of light at a higher frequency. This allows the skin to be heated gently.

The rapid pulses allow the energy to be accumulated by the skin with approximately 50% of the energy targeted at the melanin (pigment) in the hair follicle (similar to IPL) and the other 50% targets the stem cells responsible for hair production.

SHR can therefore target both fine and coarse hairs, and is said to be less painful than IPL. SHR is most effective during the active growth phase and therefore shaving the day before treatment or just before treatment is recommended.
As there is a gradual accumulation of energy/heat within the skin there is less trauma and irritation, making it very well tolerated regardless of skin tone or types.

Multiple treatments will be required to achieve long term hair reduction
